Each contestant must meet the requirements set forth by the organization to have a valid entry. 

Little Miss and Little Mister Contest Rules and Eligibility

Each applicant is to be a resident of Clay County or the majority of their participation is in Clay County programs. 

Each applicant is to be a member of a worthwhile positive program such as, but not limited to 4-H, Big Brother/Big Sister, Scouts, church youth groups, etc. Each applicant is encouraged to be familiar with the 4-H program as the winners serve as hostesses to the annual Clay County 4-H Fair. 

Each applicant must be at least 4 years old and through second grade (completed in 2022-2023 school year). 

Attire: Dress of contestant's choice based on the following; appropriateness for this age group including but not limited to sundress, formal dress, khaki pants, suit and tie, etc. 

Parents and Chaperone's are not allowed on stage. Child must walk on the stage by himself or herself. Only one adult per contestant is allowed in the backstage/staging area prior to the start of the contest. Once contest begins, adults are to remain in the audience seating until the conclusion of the contest. 

Previous Clay County Little Miss title holders are ineligible.

The 2023 winners will be welcome to join the 2023 Queen and Princess Pageants as the Official Crown Bearer and Sash Bearer. The winners will also be invited to attend a few special events at the county 4-H fair and/or others as deemed necessary and important. 

Any contestant who has performed or competed at the professional level (for monetary gain) in anything other than amateur contests will be considered ineligible for this contest.
