About

About

Clay County Fair Pageants were first founded in 1958 in response to the founding of the Indiana State Fair Queen Pageant. The Clay County Exchange Club held the first pageant and selected the annual Clay County 4-H Fair to be the community service event with which to connect.

In 1987, the Princess pageant was added to select a younger princess to assist the Queen with the growing county fair activities.

In 2022, the Duchess pageant was added to select a younger Duchess to assist both the Queen and Princess during the ever growing fair schedule.

Also in 2022, the contest to find the pageant crown bearer and flower girl was founded as the Little Miss and Little Mister Contest.

This program is designed to encourage young girls and ladies to grow in confidence by aiding them in gaining valuable life skills. The skills and experience they gain in public speaking, interviewing, and oral and verbal communication proves to be a valuable resource as they grow to advance their educations and careers.
