Each contestant must meet the requirements set forth by the organization to have a valid entry. 

Queen Pageant Rules and Eligibility

Each applicant is to be a resident of Clay County or of a neighboring township with the majority of their participation in Clay County programs. 

Each applicant is to be a member of a worthwhile positive program such as, but not limited to 4-H, Big Brother/Big Sister, Scouts, church youth groups, etc. Each applicant is encouraged to be familiar with the 4-H program as the winners serve as hostesses to the annual Clay County 4-H Fair. 

Each applicant must be age 17 years on or before the cut-off date and cannot have reached her 21st birthday on or before the cut-off date of June 1, 2024. Each applicant must be female.

School disciplinary actions must be reported to the pageant organization for review. Should it be deemed so, revocation of the title may be required and/or pageant entry application may be disqualified.

Each applicant cannot be married, nor have ever been married. If Miss Clay County Fair Queen weds anytime during her reign, she will be required to relinquish her title and all items associated with the title. 

Each applicant cannot have had a child nor be pregnant at the time of the county pageant and the State Fair Pageant. If Miss Clay County Fair Queen becomes pregnant anytime during her reign, she will be required to relinquish her title and all items associated with the title.

If anytime during the pageant activities and/or reign the winner or contestant violates and/or breaks any laws such as, but not limited to; underage drinking, alcohol/drug use, etc., disciplinary action will be taken, which may include revocation of title and/or entry.

Any applicant having already competed in the Indiana State Fair pageant is ineligible. 

Previous Miss Clay County Fair Queen title holders are ineligible. 

The winner will compete at the Indiana State Fair Queen Pageant and participate in all related events adhering to the rules of the ISF Queen Pageant. Should the winner not be eligible to compete in the Indiana State Fair Queen Program, the honor will be extended to the First Runner-Up. Clay County does not have to send a representative to the Indiana State Fair Queen Program if one is not found to be eligible. 

Each applicant must understand that the title winner will uphold a contract and make appearances throughout the year. Parent(s)/Legal Guardian(s) will also have a separate contract to uphold. Each applicant must understand that court members will uphold a contract for their presence at the annual fair. 

Any applicant who has performed or competed at the professional level (for monetary gain) in anything other than amateur contests will be considered ineligible for this contest.
